Prism
Custom orders are available according to customers’ design and samples.
COT provides prisms with various type and cemented prisms. The precision achieved 2”for 90° and 10” for 45°angle.
The applications of prisms including: binocular, astronomy telescope, bird telescope, digital still camera, traditional camera, landscape measurement, laser scanner, and optical communication etc.
Right Angle Prism
Right Angle Prism may be used as a 90 degree reflector or 180 degree retroreflector. The prism deflect, deviate and rotate beams of light as well as dispersing their wavelengths. They usually used for beam deviation or as substrates for beamsplitters.
Penta Prism
An incident beam can be deviated by 90 degree without inverting or reversing through a Penta prism. Penta prism has five sides, four of them polished. Two reflective sides are coated with metal or dielectric HR coating and these two sides can be blackened. The deviation angle of 90deg will not be changed if the penta prism is slightly adjusted, this will be convenient to install it. It is widely used in laser level, alignment and optical tooling. The reflecting surfaces of this prism must be coated with a metallic or dielectric reflective coating.
Rhomboid Prism
Rhomboid prism can displace a laser beam without change the image orientation, the input beam is totally internal reflected by two 45degree faces and goes out from the output face. Then, a lateral displacement is produced. Higher transmission rate can be achieved by anti-reflective coating on the input and output faces. Rhomboid prism is always used in stereoscopic system and periscope system
Porro Prism
Porno Prism is composed of one large face and two roof faces which are mutually vertical. Beam enters the large face of the prism then hits on the roof, by total internal reflection twice from the roof, the beam exits again through the large face.
Dove Prism
Dove prism has two applications. The main application is used as image rotator. As the prism is rotated, the image passing through will rotate at twice the angular of the prism. Another application is used as a retroreflector like right angle prism.
Roof Prism
Roof prisms are suitable for applications that demand both right angle deflection and image erection. Therefore, it is often used in terrestrial telescopes, imaging systems, viewing systems and rangefinders.
Wedge Prism
Wedge prism is used as a small beam steering element in optical systems. By combining two wedges pf equal power in near contact and independently rotating them, a ray passing through the combination can be steered in any direction, with a narrow cone.
Corner Cube Prism
Corner Cube Prism has the property that any incident beam will be reflected parallel to itself, regardless of the incident angle. These prisms are ideal where precision alignment is difficult or time-consuming.
Beamsplitter Cube
Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters split randomly polarized beams into two orthogonal, linearly, polarized components-S-polarized light is reflected at a 90deg.Angle while P-polarized light is transmitted. Each beamsplitter consists of a pair of precision high tolerance right angle prisms cemented together with a dielectric coating on the hypotenuse of one of prisms.
